BERLIN-MILAN SOCCER LEAGUE DOWNLOAD THE FALL 2008 NEWSLETTER DROP OFF SOCCER CLEATS AT 44 CENTER STREET, MILAN Our Recreational League consists of over 90 boys & girls, ages 4 – 11 (Pre-K – 4th grade). The recreational league is open to all age-eligible children. BYMSL has open enrollment, which means you don’t have to live in Berlin-Milan to join. Uniform (T-Shirts & Black Shorts) and equipment regulations are enforced. Aggressive body contact and slide tackles are not permitted. Coaches are almost exclusively parent-volunteers. Our Extramural League consists of over 40 boys and girls, ages 11 – 14 (5th – 8th grade) from which teams are formed to represent the Berlin-Milan Youth Sports League – Soccer. In the spring we partnered with Bay Area Soccer League and played two BMYSL-Soccer teams along with other area city (Huron, Sandusky & Perkins) teams. For the fall we are looking for the same type of set up with local teams. We are also looking at putting summer Tournament teams together. These teams will be formed from the 2007 Spring Players. Our purpose and goals: To offer a program in which the children of our communities can be introduced to the game of soccer at a recreational level and then brought up to the competitive level before they reach High School. To stress good sportsmanship and positive encouragement amongst the players, coaches, families, spectators, and volunteers of the league. To provide an environment, in which the children can gradually develop the skills and understanding of the game that will enable them to enjoy their soccer experiences, so they want to continue with the sport into later life. Your purpose and goals: We hope that our purpose and goals are yours. In order for all of this to happen, your involvement is important for its success. We need willing individuals to chair positions at the board level and for several committees. We need a minimum 13 experienced or teachable individuals to coach the teams. We will need help in other areas as we continue to define and enhance our program. Please read the volunteer section of the registration form and check the area that you will be a part of. If you have email address, this is an important informational contact tool; please supply it on the registration form. This is the first means of communication, so only supply it if you use it.
