Keith Ostheimer Memorial Scholarship
This award is a lasting memorial to Keith Ostheimer who was the founder of the Berlin-Milan Youth Sports League (BMYSL). Keith was an active member of the board from 2000 till his time of death in 2006. Keith was a 1978 Edison High School graduate. He was a member of the Edison Football, Basketball and Track teams from 1974-1978. Keith's goal for BMYSL was to offer the children of the Berlin-Milan school district as many opportunities to experience as many sports as possible during their youth. This scholarship is sponsored and awarded by the Berlin-Milan Youth Sports League. The following criteria will be used for the candidate selection:
1. GPA of 2.5 or higher
2. Must have been a participant in a BMYSL sport or activity. List sports played, activities, umpiring,etc.and year of play or participation.
(Sports and years began with BMYSL: Milan Softball & Baseball 2000, 6th Grade Football 2000,
Cheerleading 2005, Soccer 2001, 5th/6th Grade Boys Basketball 2002, 6th Grade Girls Basketball
2006.)
3. Must complete a semester of college or other approved post secondary option in good standing to
receive award.
4. Must submit a 250 word essay including one or more of the following topics:
Please list your name, Sports or activity you participated in along with the year you were involved with each activitiy.
a. Favorite youth coach that may have inspired or touched your life. Who and why?
b. Favorite youth sports memory or achievement.
c. How has BMYSL sports impacted your life.
